Camping is fun but Glamping is even better. Glamping, for those who don’t know, is luxury camping. You don’t have to set up a tent, sleep on the floor or cook your own meals. That is all done for you. Here is a place that has taken this idea to the extreme and it looks absolutely inviting. Just the views let you channel A River Runs Through It.
Paws Up Resort- pawsup.com is located in Western Montana (Greenough). It sits on 37,000 acres of beautiful wilderness, including 10 miles of the winding Blackfoot River. Here you can stay in a luxury tent with wood floors or even heated floors and you have your own bathroom. I mean, your own LUXURY bathroom. You can listen to the wilderness outside your tent as the river provides its own methodical music to relax you.
Your gourmet meals are cooked by a chef using locally sourced ingredients and you can decide to eat on your own porch, in your tent or in the lodge. There are a ton of activities to do when you are there such as horseback riding, fishing, spa treatments, hiking, shooting, or just relaxing. While I have only camped as a child, I am now ready to glamp as an adult.
In case you are interested, Glamping does not come cheap. A luxury tent in the summer months will run about $1700-2400 a night . That includes all 3 meals and beverages. There also have 2 bedroom tents for families. Check out their website for specific rates.
If you are not ready to fork over that kind of money for your vacation, maybe another experience might entice you for a one of a kind experience.
Have you heard of Dinner in the Sky? I heard this mentioned on TV recently and I had to investigate. It is an interesting concept that you should be aware of in case you are in one of the cities where you can experience this. Dinner in the sky is a company developed when a Belgium communications agency and an amusement park installation company got together. The concept is a group dines or lounges at a table that is hoisted above the ground at approximately 160-180 ft by a crane. It is an exclusive dining experience, often in the grandest of cities. Here is the schedule for their upcoming events:
DINNER IN THE SKY – EVENTS ALL AROUND THE WORLD:

Just to keep you aware, if you do some research on this creative idea, they have had some hiccups in permitting and such, in certain areas. Several reviews stated that Dinner in the Sky had cancelled events last minute. For this reason, I would not book a trip just for this dining experience, but if you are in the area, certainly sign up! Their website is www.dinnerinthesky.com.
